Inspired by the vibrant orange of egg yolks and the slimy viscosity of egg whites, YOLK reinterprets these qualities into luminance and diffusion.

A frosty albumen encases a dangling yolk within. 2 shells are stitched and a water balloon is suspended inside
The albumen consists of plastic that was vacuum formed over a hand-sculpted foam mold. It was then wet sanded to a frosty finish, and the 2 mirrored shells are stitched together.
The yolk is actually a water balloon with an LED shining into it. I discovered that when you do this, it makes the entire water balloon glow, due to refraction through the latex and liquid within.
